The 1.6 mil material is made of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) and won't wrinkle, tear, or fog like other plastics. The protective closure is what makes this bag stand out from the rest with the adhesive on the bag, not the flap. This design allows you to remove and reinsert items without any contact with the adhesive tape. Just insert, peel, and seal.
